613 General Practitioners and Nurses are Ready to Help Flood Victims in West Jakarta

West Jakarta Health Sub-agency deployed 613 general practitioners and nurses to treat flood victims in shelters.

They will be deployed to the evacuation points in shifts to provide health services for residents affected by flood

West Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Kristy Wathini stated, they were consisted of 303 general practitioners and 310 nurses.

"They will be deployed to the evacuation points in shifts to provide health services for residents affected by flood," she explained, Tuesday (11/16).

West Jakarta Mayor Emphasizes Three Principles for Handling Floods

Besides general practitioners and nurses, her side also deployed 75 environmental health specialists/sanitarians, 62 nutritionists, 22 mental health professionals, 65 obgyn physicians, 10 surveillance officers, 5 epidemiologist, and 49 drivers.

Her side also alerted 17 ambulances, 16 tents, 34 beds, 5 emergency lights, 3 rubber boats, 8 buoys, 46 emergency kits, and 93 pairs of boots. For logistics, she provided 5,742 boxes of Breast Milk Complementary Food (MPASI) for breastfed infant, 1,239 complementary foods for pregnant women, 1,256 liters of lysol, and 151 packages of medicines.

"Health workers, facilities and logistics are flexible, it can be increased or decreased depending on situation and condition on the field. But importantly, we always try to give the best health services for flood victims thus they remain in good health in the shelters," she asserted.
